Cardstore review {Father's Day card}

I spent this past weekend with my family and we celebrated my awesome dad on Father's Day! I made him a nice home cooked meal, and I also gave him a custom card that I designed online using Cardstore. When Cardstore asked me to review one of their products, I was very excited because I love giving people cards! It's probably because I think cards express emotions in a longer lasting way, and they can also be creative and fun. I designed this card last week, just in time for Father's Day.

I browsed through almost all of the many physical card options that Cardstore offers and I chose the White Border Photo - Vertical template for my dad's card.

The website is really user-friendly - inserting photos and text was pretty simple and quick.

I put a photo of us on the cover and photos on the inside of the card. I wrote a short and sweet message for my dad (reminding him how great he is) and then "signed it" on the bottom. I was happy with the font options for the text and the versatility for the layout of the inside of the card.

After I completed my design, I approved every side of the card. I really liked the magnifying glass tool that zooms in on the text to help you see if you've made an error somewhere.

Once I approved my design, I got the option of shipping the card to myself or shipping it directly to the recipient. This is such a smart feature. Although I chose to ship the card to myself so that I could give my dad his card in person, I know that's not feasible for everyone making a card for someone else. And of course, the digital cards can be sent via email.

Two of my out-of-state friends came over for dinner at our house yesterday and they thought the card I made was so cute! I shared Cardstore with them, and now you're in on this great card source too :)

  1. It sounds like you and your family had a wonderful Father's Day! I love your photos!

  2. Hello from Spain: Happy Father's Day. Nice family photos. In my country that day is celebrated on March 19 .. We keep in touch

  3. I love giving cards too Vett... I think they say so much more and making one of your own makes it even more special :)

  4. Aw, love this. Now he needs a frame - birthday present, maybe? ;)

  5. I've never used the Cardstore before but this sounds like such a great idea for making really special, personalized cards for loved ones! I always spend so much time picking out perfect birthday, holiday, et. cards so I have a feeling I'm going to love this site :) Thank you for sharing!!

  6. I'm such a sucker for great cards! Love this review! Thanks so much for the inspiration! I will definitely check them out.

  7. This is a great idea, especially because we keep so many of our pictures stored on our computers, why not make them into cards!

  8. I thought that card was super adorable!!! Thank you so much for sharing the site with us...I'll have to keep it in mind when different occasions and events come up again!

  9. That is so cute! I'm a sucker for cards and snail mail but I love the fact that you can design your own cards with the software. They're on to something!

    The family photos you chose are beautiful. I know your dad loved it!
